Dhruv Jurel, on Thursday (May 2), walked off the field with a suspected hamstring injury during the ongoing game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

The incident took place on the final ball of the ninth over when he was fielding at deep mid-wicket. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal bowled one on the pads to Travis Head and the SRH opener placed his shot through midwicket.

Head managed to find the gap between deep mid and long-on for a four. As the ball was running away towards the boundary, Dhruv Jurel came running in from the deep mid-wicket to stop the ball. However, before he could even get close to the ball, he slowed down and started hobbling while clutching the back of his left thigh. He had to leave the field immediately.

Watch as Dhruv Jurel suffers the injury:

Rajasthan Royals will be hoping that the injury is not serious and even if he does not bat in the ongoing game, he remains fit for the upcoming games. Dhruv Jurel has hardly got the opportunity to bat in the ongoing IPL 2024 but showed what he is capable of by scoring an unbeaten match-winning fifty against Lucknow Super Giants last week. In 10 games so far, he has scored 102 runs with a top score of 52 not out.

Talking about the ongoing game, SRH were on 131 for 2 in the 15th over at the time of writing this report. Travis Head and Nitish Reddy were batting in the middle for the hosts. Head was batting on 58 while Reddy was unbeaten on 49.

Before Head and Reddy steadied the ship for SRH, Abhishek Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh were dismissed cheaply. While Sharma was dismissed by Avesh Khan for 12, Sandeep Sharma sent back Anmolpreet for five. With eight wins from nine games, RR are at the top of the points table and have all but qualified for the playoffs. On the other hand, SRH are at the fifth spot with five wins and four defeats.
