Team India Celebrates Shikhar Dhawan's 32nd Birthday

The left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan celebrated his 32^nd birthday, and as per the tradition of Team India, the players assembled to have fun with the Delhi-based birthday boy and the entertaining teammate.

Dhawan on his birthday smashed a fifty as he went on to score 67 off 91 deliveries which was further comprised of five boundaries and a maximum.

Interestingly, in a 50-second video capsule uploaded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Twitter handle, Dhawan offered a piece of cake to his opening partner Murali Vijay, who denied before he smeared a cake on latter’s face.

“We are not letting the birthday boy @SDhawan25 escape today,” BCCI tweeted with a video.

Moreover, Cheteshwar Pujara found an interesting opportunity to join Vijay – to smear Dhawan’s head with the cake which has ‘Gabar’s’ photo on it including the bat and the ball.

Vijay, who in the pre-match press conference in the ongoing Delhi Test against Sri Lanka revealed he has had shared a great bound with Dhawan.

The right-handed batsman Vijay was the first to smear the face of Dhawan during the birthday gathering.

On the other side, the fast bowler Mohammad Shami took to Twitter – to post a picture with his teammate Dhawan.

Although the smearing session did witness a lot, the video revealed an interesting moment of the team physio Patrick Farhart and lanky fast bowler Ishant Sharma.

The footage showed Ishant held Farhart from behind as Vijay smeared his face.

In July 2015, Nitin Patel was replaced by Farhart as the physiotherapist.

On the other side, premium off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was urging Vijay and his teammates to not spare Dhawan which further saw the former applauding the efforts of Pujara as well.In 27 Test fixtures, Dhawan scored 1,924 runs at an average of 43.72. He smashed six-hundred and four fifties.

While filing this news, the tweet has already garnered 2.8k likes and 376 retweets and 77 comments.
