Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam expressed confidence in the players as they prepare for the three-match Test series against Australia. Babar described the upcoming series as a golden opportunity for the players and the newly appointed Test captain, Shan Masood.

The Men in Green are scheduled to face Australia in a three-match Test series, with the first match starting on December 14 at the Perth Stadium in Perth. The Shan Masood-led team will be hoping to register their first-ever series victory in Australia in red-ball cricket.

It’s A Golden Opportunity – Babar Azam

During Zaka Ashraf’s visit to the training camp in Pindi, Babar Azam stressed the importance of dominating on the field, expressing belief in the team’s ability and unity. He emphasized the value of sharing experiences with Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Gul, and Saeed Ajmal.

“Almost all of them are the same guys, but for the new guys, it’s a golden opportunity, and Shan Masood also has a great chance. Wherever you go, you try to dominate; it’s not about going there and not being able to dominate, we can do it, we have the ability, and we take it forward in our own way.”

“Whatever work we do, as a team, we are united. We will take experience from Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Gul, and Saeed Ajmal. Things don’t just come all at once; they come from sharing and from experience. The more we share with each other, the more help it will be,” Babar said.

Babar Azam stepped down from the captaincy across all formats of cricket after Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the recent ODI World Cup 2023. The ace Pakistan batter made the decision after a meeting with the PCB chief, Zaka Ashraf, on November 15.
