Pakistan opening batter Imam-ul-Haq has toiled hard with the bat during the ongoing first game of the three-match Test series against Australia. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

Imam-ul-Haq has batted magnificently well on the Day 2 of the ongoing Perth Test. He has shown great discipline to the balls outside off and has shown great resilience and grit. He made sure that Pakistan got off the great in their response to Australia’s 487.

Imam-ul-Haq has been rock solid at the crease and along with Abdullah Shafique (42) added 74 runs for the opening partnership. After his partner got out, he had a decent partnership with skipper Shan Masood as well but it came at the cost of the blow that the captain suffered.

During the 4th ball of the 43rd over, Nathan Lyon bowled a tossed-up delivery to which Imam-ul-Haq smashed it back hard. The ball hit Shan Masood hard as turned his back in reflex. The ball deflected towards mid-on and they ran for a single.

Here’s the video:

Shan Masood looked in immense pain and physios also rushed out to attend to him. They applied the magic spray on the bruised area on his back and the skipper continued batting after that. The southpaw played some crips shots in his innings, trying to make sure that team gets runs quickly.

AUS vs PAK: Shan Masood Perishes after scoring 30; Imam-ul-Haq continues fighting hard

Shan Masood came in to bat with aggressive intent and tried to score runs quickly. However, on the cusp of stumps, he lost his wicket. The batter poked at the delivery outside off from Mitchell Starc and ended up getting an outside edge, which was caught safely by Alex Carey. It is fair to say that his wicket was on the cards because he was throwing his hands at everything outside off.

Shan Masood scored 30 runs off 43 balls. On the other hand, Imam-ul-Haq continued working hard and remained not out at stumps. He was batting at unbeaten 38 runs off 136 balls as Pakistan ended Day 2 on 132/2.
