Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri burst into laughter during the ongoing first Test between Australia and Pakistan at WACA Stadium in Perth. While the competition between bat and ball was high, commentators had their fun too.

Ravi Shastri grabbed the spotlight with his commentary even in Australia but one instance caught the attention of many. The former Indian cricketer couldn’t control his laugh when Australian commentator Kerry O’Keeffe roasted New Zealand’s cricketer-turned-commentator Ian Smith.

Kerry O’Keeffe took a jibe at Ian Smith for New Zealand’s loss to India in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. In a video that has gone viral on the internet, O’Keeffe can be heard revealing that Shaheen Afridi’s brother Riyaz wouldn’t eat for two days when Pakistan used to lose a game.

Sharing the tale, Kerry O’Keeffe took a jibe at Ian Smith, saying how long he hadn’t eaten after New Zealand suffered a thumping defeat to India in the ICC World Cup 2023 semifinal.

Speaking on air, he said: “One of seven brothers, of course, Shaheen Shah Afridi. His elder brother Riyaz was very formidable bowler, terrific first-class record. Do you know when he was young, Pakistan lost a Test match, he didn’t eat for two days. What did you do when New Zealand lost.”

Replying to this, Ian Smith said: “(chuckles) That’s a seriously early punch.” Ravi Shastri couldn’t control his laughter after that.
