Lucknow Super Giants (LGS) batter Marcus Stoinis couldn't make an impact with the bat in the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 44th game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Marcus Stoinis, who scored a century in the last match, was undone by the brilliance of Sandeep Sharma with the new ball in the ongoing game. The batter looked clueless against the peach as Lucknow Super Giants lost two quick wickets in the game.

Sandeep Sharma bowled a brilliant wobble seam delivery that was pitched up and swung back into the batter. Marcus Stoinis got lured into the expansive drive as there was a massive gap left between the bat and ball, which went on to crash through the gate and rattle the middle stump to send the batter packing.

Here's the video:

Marcus Stoinis bagged a four-ball duck and with his wicket, Lucknow Super Giants was left tottering at 11/2. After he got out, skipper KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda took charge and bailed the team out of trouble with their magnificent batting at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Deepak Hood was the aggressor in the partnership as he batted with a high strike rate and brought up a sensational half-century. He scored 50 runs off 31 balls and put his team in a commanding position in the game against the Rajasthan Royals.

Hooda along with skipper KL Rahul added 115 runs for the third wicket and put pressure back on the opposition. The skipper has looked in solid touch with the bat and racked another another half-century in the tournament, making his case strong for the T20 World Cup 2024.

The onus would now be on him to take his team to the big total. The keeper-batter has been in tremendous touch in the league and the Lucknow Super Giants would be hoping for him to continue till the last over.

I execute all my skills at the nets and before the match - Yash Thakur

Lucknow Super Giants pacer Yash Thakur will be vital for his team in the second innings. The fast bowler has been bowling really well in the tournament and would be hoping to make a mark with the ball in the game. The fast bowler ahead of the game talked about his plans.

He stated that he executed all his skills in the nets before the match and added that he does a lot of hard work. Speaking to broadcasters ahead of the game, he explained:

"The mode of preparations change - it's very different when compared to domestic cricket, there are international players here, so we have to spend time and have chats with the bowling coach, make use of their experience well. I believe as a bowler you should have an economy rate in the region of 8-9 rpo, that range gives you an ideal chance of putting pressure and taking wickets.

"I don't think too much (about plans), but looking at the amount of runs being scored in the last few games, it also gives you a chance of taking wickets. I execute all my skills at the nets and before the match starts so that I'm well prepared to face the situation during the course of the game. I go by instincts, but I generally do some homework, look at where the batter is strong and what are his weak points," he concluded.
