Big Bash League: Melbourne Renegades Sign Usman Khan Shinwari

The search of foreign players finally ended for Melbourne Renegades with the signings of Usman Khan Shinwari and Harry Gurney. They are in quest of signing left-handed fast bowlers for quite a time now. Finally, the latest series between Pakistan and Australia has given them the choice to bag the Pacer.

Pakistan’s spearhead Usman Khan will play the first seven matches of the tournament for Melbourne Renegades. Meanwhile, the England Fast bowler, Harry Gurney will replace him after the conclusion of his contract.

The premium fast bowler quoted that he has been watching the tournament with all the interest in recent years and wanted to play in it. Further, he is hopeful of delivering the goods for the team in his 7-match stint.

Meanwhile, Gurney added that he is very grateful for the signing and wants to make the opportunity count. Further, the fast bowler added that he has always admired the tournament, which has always been top-class.

“I have watched the Big Bash with interest in recent years and I’ve been impressed with the quality of the competition. I’m hoping I can bring something different to the team with my bowling and help the Renegades push for success,” Usman Khan Shinwari quoted as per Cricket.com.au.

“Dan spoke very positively about the competition so to get an opportunity to come and play with the Renegades is something I’m really grateful for. I’ve had a fair bit of experience in T20 cricket in England. I’m really excited to test myself in Australian conditions. I have admired the BBL from afar for a few years and am thrilled to get an opportunity to play in the comp,” Harry Gurney said.

Well, it seems like a decent signing for Melbourne Renegades. Of late, Usman Khan Shinwari has been in a great form and delivering the goods more often than not. On the other hand, Harry Gurney is a frequent performer for Nottinghamshire in white-ball format.
