Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg in a recent Q&A session with fans on Twitter rated the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on a scale of 1-10. He also highlighted the difference between the domestic leagues of arch-rivals India and Pakistan.

Hogg, who himself has played in the IPL previously for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) gave the T20 league a rating of nine out of 10. He also rated the PSL similar ratings, whilst replying to a fans’ query on Twitter.

The 49-year-old was asked by a fan to rate the two respective T20 leagues of India and Pakistan, and he responded by handing out equal marks to both.

The former chinaman-bowler praised the PSL for bringing back cricket into Pakistan, a country where teams hesitate to visit owing to security concerns.

Due to this, the PSL has been held in UAE in the past few seasons, although this year, the league has been hosted fully in Pakistan itself.

Moreover, Hogg also lauded IPL as the more popular league, while adding that it had more viewership than PSL.

“Both 9 out of 10. The PSL has been the most prevalent of late because it has bought the game back to Pakistan. The IPL has the most interest in viewership worldwide,” read Hogg’s tweet, in reply to the fan’s query.

Much to the frustration of IPL and PSL fans, the spread of COVID-19 or coronavirus has seen both leagues come under the scanner. While the PSL had to be cut short among fear related to the pandemic, at least 10 foreign players and coaching staff have left Pakistan midway, due to the deadly outbreak.

The 13th edition of IPL meanwhile, was due to start from March 29, although owing to the disease, India’s premier T20 league has been postponed until 15th April.
