Earlier, India had put up a total of 250 on the board in 48.2 overs before being bowled out.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the top-scorer with an innings of 116 off 120.

It was his 40th ODI century as he moved another step closer to Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 29 ODI centuries.

Shankar scored 46 off 41, playing a crucial part in India putting up a defendable total on the board that would not have been possible without his contribution.
