Chris Gayle pummeled Rajasthan Royals bowlers on Friday as he missed out on a century by a run. His 63-ball knock consisted of six boundaries and eight hits over the fence as it helped Kings XI Punjab post a total of 185/4. Rajasthan Royals however chased to the target with two over to spare.

The loss for KXIP meant an end to their win streak and they will have to wait to qualify for the IPL 2020 playoffs. However the presence of Gayle is a big positive for the side as he showed that he is still at his best. Rajasthan Royals’ English fast bowler Jofra Archer applauded him for the effort.

Archer was left in disbelief after the tremendous show put on by Gayle. After Rajasthan Royals won the contest, Archer took to Twitter to post some pictures from Gayle’s knock and captioned it by saying, he is ‘still the boss’.

Gayle is one of the cleanest hitters off the ball and when his bat does the talking he is hard to be stopped. Veteran West Indies batsman Gayle has established himself as a powerful striker of the ball not only for his national team but also in franchise leagues across the world. Today, there is hardly any league left, where Chris Gayle has not made his presence felt.

From Afghanistan Premier League (APL) to Global T20 Canada League, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Everest Premier League (EPL) — Gayle has played almost everywhere. He played in the BPL for two season along with senior Bangladesh cricketer Mashrafe Mortaza.

Gayle has played 404 T20 matches. He has scored over 13000 runs at an average of 38.20 with the high score of an unbeaten 175. He has incredibly hit 22 centuries and 82 half-centuries in this format.
