A day after at least 10 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) member was tested positive for Covid-19, a video has surfaced on social media, showing team manager Russell Radhakrishnan exchanging hug with a man at airport. All this comes at a time when Covid-19 is growing across the globe and players were handed specific SOPs by the cricket board for the IPL 2020.

“Who is responsible for this ?? Is this the protocol or SOP provided by BCCI ?? Hugging etc is allowed as per BCCI protocol ?? . This is totally unacceptable when they clearly knew COVID is still there,” questioned the Twitter handle who tweeted the video.

The situation in UAE is also troublesome as a lot of cases have been reported from the country. The country had recently recorded 10 percent surge in the number of Covid-19 cases. However, the names of the CSK members, have still not be cleared by the sources. It has been speculated that Deepak Chahar is one of the players with now reports emerging that Ruturaj Gaekwad has also tested positive.

CSK were supposed to begin their training on Friday but now have been forced to return to quarantine. Sources told the Times of India, that players and support staffs, are among the members who have been tested positive with the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, after VIVO pulled out as the sponsors for IPL, Dream 11 bagged the deal for Rs.220 crore for four months. IPL will get underway from September 19 with the final being played on November 10. However, the final fixture for the lucrative tournament is still to be announced, with Mumbai Indians set to put their title on defense.

The schedule for IPL 2020 will be announced in due course. It is highly likely that CSK will play the opening fixture against defending champions Mumbai Indians on September 19.
