The world cup-winning team England has announced their schedule for the upcoming year. They will be hosting their rivals Australia, West Indies, Ireland and Pakistan in 2020. The first series after the summer in England will see England team taking on West Indies side in a Test series.

Following the series against West Indies, England will then host Australia in a three-match IT20 series and a three-match ODI series in July. The focus will again switch to Test cricket when Pakistan arrive for a three-match series in July and August.

The Pakistan visit will also feature three T20Is. It would be the best chance for England to test their skills against the No.1 side in format, ahead of the T20 World Cup. The summer will be rounded off with a three-match ODI series against Ireland.

“The ICC World Test Championship will add significance and context to the Test series against West Indies and Pakistan,” said Tom Harrison, the ECB chief executive. “Where every Test matters, there will be lots of points to play for as England continue their efforts to reach the inaugural World Test Championship final in June 2021.”

England’s six Tests next summer will be part of the new ICC World Test Championship, which began earlier this month and ends with a final at Lord’s on June 2021. The current Ashes series also comes under the ICC Test Championship procedure.
