Harsha Bhogle Throws Challenge At Shri Narendra Modi After Historic Win In Election

Ace commentator Harsha Bhogle has joined the millions of people congratulating Shri Narendra Modi on his historic win in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Shri Modi led his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) towards a super-sized victory for a second term in office. BJP won 302 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha. Ever since the results came out on Thursday (May 23), the world leaders have congratulated Shri Modi.

The cricketing fratnerity has also not remained far behind. Past and present players have wished the next Prime Minister of India in numbers over the landslide win. Starting from Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli, all the prominent personalities from Indian cricket have made sure to congratulate the BJP and Shri Modi.

Well, Harsha Bhogle did not remain far behind as he too congratulated the influential leader. He, however, threw a challenge for Narendra Modi 2.0, urging the upcoming Prime Minister of this great nation to create more opportunities for women. Hailing the work done by the government in the recent past, Bhogle said that it is high time all the citizens of the country get equal opportunity.

“The one thing I would desperately want @narendramodi 2.0 to pursue with vigour is creating more opportunities for women. That will be India’s next great revolution. The last 10-15 years have been good but young India is so awesome that everyone there should have equal opportunity,” Harsha Bhogle wrote on Twitter.

Bhogle, meanwhile, is currently in England as a part of the commentary panel.  The star studded commentary panel includes the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Sanjay Manjrekar,  Nasser Hussain, Ian Bishop, Kumar Sangakkara, Michael Atherton, Brendon McCullum, Graeme Smith, Wasim Akram and other big names from the game.

The twelfth edition of the World Cup gets underway on May 30 with hosts England taking on South Africa in a mouth-watering tournament-opener at The Oval.
