Afghanistan produced a scintillating effort before going down against India by 11 runs on Saturday. They will take a lot of self-belief and confidence in their next game against Bangladesh at Southampton. The spinners were right on the money, and Gulbadin Naib will expect his spinners to be on their top against the in-form Bangladesh batsmen. The Mashrafe Mortaza-led side has been terrific with their batting. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim have led the pack along with Liton Das and Mahmudullah. However, it is their bowling which has led them down in the tournament. The likes of Mashrafe Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman should raise their game and support the batsmen as they look for a win over Bangladesh. Against a strong Afghanistan bowling attack, Bangladesh’s bowlers will have to step up to make life easier for their batsmen.
