English wickets have produced tons of runs in the last year. The ongoing ODI series between England and Pakistan have also produced high scores with Pakistan posting 340 or 340+ scores in three consecutive games. Interestingly, England have overhauled the targets on each occasion to win the series 3-0. The bowlers have also had a tough time on those wickets and Pakistan have lost on all occasion as they have failed to grab wickets in the middle overs.

Rahul Dravid, who has toured England with the India A side last year feels the upcoming World Cup will be a high-scoring World Cup. Dravid feels taking wickets in the middle of the innings will be very crucial and India will be very lucky in this regard.

“In a World Cup, I believe, having experienced some of the conditions in England last year with the A tour, it would be a high scoring World Cup. And in a high scoring WC, having bowlers who can take wickets in the middle will be very important. I think India is lucky in that regard,” Dravid said here.

Rahul Dravid feels the presence of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav along with Jasprit Bumrah will be a massive advantage for the Indian team. He also added that the teams which will be able to restrict the run flow in the middle overs to go long in the World Cup.

“People like (Jasprit) Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav  and Yuzvendra Chahal… (We have) got bowlers who can take wickets. Teams that are taking wickets through those middle-overs in those high scoring games have a better chance of restricting the opposition,” Rahul Dravid added.

India will leave for England on May 22 to play two practice games on May 22 and 28 before they start their World Cup campaign on June 5 against South Africa at Southampton.
