Notwithstanding the results, India possesses a threat to Australia in the second T20I, which begins on Wednesday (February 27th); the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru will host the match. Meanwhile, Matthew Hayden, a former Aussie opener, had given the visitors some advice on how to tackle India – knowing their strengths in the recent games. As the Star Sports released a video ahead of the game, Hayden is on record calling Indian team as a full package at the moment.

India has a depth of talent – Hayden

The India National Cricket Team had been a team to reckon with in the recent past. They had attained results in their favour in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand in limited-overs cricket. Apart from dominating in the white-ball game, the Virat Kohli-led team had recently won the Border-Gavaskar trophy in Australia – a feat they achieved for the first time in 71 years. Though in their lead up to the home series against Australia, India lost the previous T20Is against NZ at their home.

However, Matthew Hayden reckons it is not easy for Australia to think they have the series in their pocket. He said the hosts have depth in their talent pool – be it the leg-spinners or the unorthodox bowlers or even the batsmen. He added despite the talent there seems to be a policy of having enormous stability; which is visible, as they don’t make too many changes.

Not only this, the former great said the way the Indian team is producing results in their favour even outside the home – no wonder they are the ranked number one team in the world.

“They have the depth of talent – leg-spinners, chinaman’s, quality batting. Despite that, there seems to be enormous stability as well. Their policy has been to stay constant and not change too much. Also, the results are speaking for them. India is doing well away from home; they have done really well to be ranked number one in Tests.”

Meanwhile, Australia won the first T20I in Vizag by three wickets. In Bengaluru, they will like to win the series, whereas, India will aim to level it with a dominating return.
