Team India is going through a terrific run of form in the limited overs side. After taking a 2-0 lead in the 5 match ODI series against Australia, they are looking set to win the series with a couple of matches to spare. The ongoing match is currently being played at the JSCA Sports Complex in Ranchi which also happens to be the hometown of the former Indian skipper.

During the toss, Team India skipper Virat Kohli revealed that the team will be wearing army camouflage style caps in tribute and to join hands with the armed forces. One of the finest broadcasters, Harsha Bhogle felt that after this initiative, one full cricket day could be dedicated to the armed forces. He wasn’t surprised to know that the initiative was taken by none other than MS Dhoni.

Harsha Bhogle feels India did a commendable job by giving tribute to the Indian army

Taking to his twitter handle Harsha Bhogle wrote, “So the Indian team will wear army camouflage style caps today in tribute to, and in solidarity with, the armed forces. Maybe in future, one cricket day will be dedicated to the armed forces. No surprise this is a Dhoni initiative.

It was hosts skipper Virat Kohli who won the toss and put the visitors in. The home team have begun in a brilliant manner with openers Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja looking in great touch. Both have taken the Indian bowling to the cleaners. Meanwhile, it must be noted that India is missing the service of one frontline pacer.

Mohammed Shami who is part of the playing XI has left the field owing to an injury after bowling only 3 overs. He looked in fantastic rhythm and conceded only 7 runs in his 3 overs so far. Kohli has been forced to give an extended spell to Vijay Shankar. If Mohammed Shami doesn’t return to the ground it will be a huge setback to the hosts, especially in the death overs.

The visiting team will look to post a commendable total on the board to put India under pressure. Even during the previous match, the opening duo had got them of to a fantastic start. However, they didn’t manage to make full use of their start and was bowled out for 242 in the final over of the match. Hence they will look to take it over by over.
