India vs New Zealand 2019: Watch Vijay Shankar's Unfortunate Dismissal In 5th ODI

It was all set for Vijay Shankar to play a great knock for the team and boost his chances for the ICC World Cup 2019. But, unfortunately, then came the most frustrating way to be dismissed. The flamboyant batsman has had a bit of miscommunication with Ambati Rayudu while stealing a single, which saw him walking back furious to the pavilion.

It was in the 32nd over of the game when Colin Munro is bowling his 6th over of the game. The lanky Shankar knocked it to mid-on region and set himself for a run. Meanwhile, on the other end, Rayudu watched the ball go past the fielder and then sets off for a run.

In between, Vijay Shankar asked Rayudu to wait with his hand up, perhaps, which wasn’t noticed by Rayudu, who ran to the other end. Shankar has got no other way rather than looking for the luck. The fielder failed to hit the stumps but the bowler was smart in backing it up to rattle the stumps.

Coming to the match, Indian batsmen once again failed to tackle the masterful bowling of Kiwis in the final ODI of the game. The top-order batsman Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma walked back for cheap scores.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill once again failed to deliver while Mahendra Singh Dhoni was also cleaned up by Trent Boult to make things looks bleak for India. However, Ambati Rayudu and Vijay Shankar stood for the team in middle by tackling the bowlers in an efficienct way.

Vijay Shankar looked pretty promising, who handled the pressure well by scoring runs and rotating the strike at regular intervals of time. Just when things looked settled for India, then came the disaster run-out to see Vijay walking back.
