Beating Windies in the first ODI with utmost ease, India will be keen to extend their lead when both the teams square off in the second ODI at Visakhapatnam on October 24 (Wednesday).

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit  Sharma dominated the Windies bowling to chase 323 in just 42.1 over in the opening fixture. However, they will look to test their revamped middle-order with the World Cup in sight. They have brought in Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu, who have done exceedingly well in recent times. The duo will look to capitalise the opportunity against a weak Windies line-up.

However, going into the second game, the visitors will look to dwell on the issues with the ball, especially the inability to absorb pressure when put under the pump by aggressive batting. Oshane Thomas has the pace but needs to do better in terms of line and length while the spinners may look to bowl slower in the air and give the ball the chance to grip off the surface.

Weather Forecast

It is likely to be hot and sunny in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday and there’s percent cent chance of rain as well. India last played an ODI at the venue in December 2017 where they hunted down Sri Lanka’s 215 in just 32.1 overs.

Evidenced from that, the surface can be expected to be good for batting. However, dew could be a factor since Visakhapatnam straddles India’s eastern coast, so bowling first could be the way to go.

Windies will be keen to come back in the series while India will aim to take a 2-0 lead ahead.
