India vs Windies 2018: Twitter Reacts As KL Rahul Spends The ODI Series On Bench
Updated - 03 Nov 2018, 09:48 PM
Indian right-hand batsman KL Rahul is struggling to score runs, and his hopes of making it to the World Cup squad is slowly fading away.
However, when KL Rahul initially came in the Indian side, people saw him as a proper Test batsman. The 26 years old took his limited overs batting to another level. He was on the more rad across all three formats of the game.
KL Rahul is currently struggling and unable to provide runs with his bat. He is hoping to add his name in the squad for the next year’s triumph but is fading away. India had recently won the five-match ODI series 3-1 against Windies. Rahul was named in the team but didn’t get a single opportunity to advance into the playing XI.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli cannot be blamed as KL Rahul was not given the opportunity. The opening combination was pretty good for India with a right-hand, left-hand combination. Ambati Rayudu who returned into the squad after a long time has impressed with his batting skills, and thus he deserved the position to bat at number 4. Rayudu has scored a fifty and a century in the ODI series against Windies, and the selectors have one less problem to deal with.
Furthermore, it is too early to say whether the doors had closed for KL Rahul or not. However, Rahul might be only seeking for the opening slot which he can get in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan or Rohit Sharma. Previously Rahul couldn’t score runs while batting at number four. The fans want to see KL Rahul playing some more international cricket. They also feel that he can play as an opener or might have tested in place of Rayudu.

Most cricket experts and also MSD have said in the past that one player should have around 50 ODI experience before the world cup. India's present third opener KL Rahul has not had any major chance, do you think will he be in the reserves or we will see rahane back @bhogleharsha

@imVkohli Kedar Jadhav makes19 runs in each ODI match are you expecting a big inning to him in World Cup's crucial match? If yes then shame on your planning. We'll loose the WC if you give chance to 19 run player or keep 40runs player (KL Rahul)@ bench pic.twitter.com/JJuYeT1IcA
