Delhi Daredevils won the toss and decided to field first against Chennai Super Kings in the thirtieth match of the Indian Premier League at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Here is what the captains said:

Shreyas Iyer:

“We would like to bowl first. It was a great performance in the last match, today is a fresh day. We need to put collective effort in all the departments. Hopefully, we will repeat the same performance today.”

MS Dhoni:

“Yes, I think the Mumbai Indians had a bit of pace. The choice of deliveries on our part could have been better. It does not result on the result of the game. Don’t ask me the names of the players who are not playing. Faf, Karn, Lungi and Asif are in. Deepak Chahar is injured. Billings we have given a break. The two bowlers we have got in is because we wanted some pace.”

Preview:

Chennai Super Kings will have their task cut out when they take on a resurgent Delhi Daredevils team. The Super Kings will be keen to get back to winning ways but will need to fire on all cylinders against a side which has started on a bright note under their new skipper Shreyas Iyer.

Both the teams are entering the game after experiencing contrasting results in their past games. Super Kings lost to defending champions Mumbai Indians while Daredevils crushed two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders by 55 runs. Everything clicked for Daredevils against Knight Riders and they will be entering the game high on confidence.

On the table, both the teams are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. However, going by the current form and unpredictability of the format, one can expect a humdinger of a game.
