Spinner Murugan Ashwin will play his trade for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League after being bought by the two-time finalists for INR 2.2 crore in the ongoing auction.

The Tamil Nadu tweaker was bought at the 2016 Indian Premier League auction by the Rising Pune Supergiant for a whopping amount of INR 4.5 crores, which was 45 times the original base price of 10 lakhs. Ashwin got the huge deal after he finished the 2015-16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as Tamil Nadu’s second-highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets.  Last year, he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils but did not play any game.

So far, he has played 30 T20s, taking 32 wickets with an economy rate of 7.41.
