Mumbai Indians have given rest to all the players and have given them much-needed break.

As per a report in IANS, the team management released all its players after MI’s previous match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday and the players will regroup on April 25, a day ahead of the tie against Chennai Super Kings.

As per the report, most of the foreign players have headed to Chennai while the Indian players have headed to their homes.

The decision could be one of the steps to manage the workload of the players, especially those who are part of the World Cup squads for their respective national teams.

Apart from that, this will also give players time to take a break from the game.

Last year, Kings XI Punjab also gave players break when the team had a gap between two matches.

Though the break had a bad impact on the team’s performance as KXIP could never get back on track and also failed to qualify for the second round despite being the table-toppers at the start.

Mumbai Indians are currently placed at the second place in the points table with six wins in 10 matches.

They have to win two of the four matches to make it to the next round.

However, MI will aim to win as many matches as finishing in the top two will be their main aim to get two chances to qualify for the finals.

The Rohit Sharma-led side next play Chennai Super Kings in an away game on April 25.

They will have a chance to climb to the top spot when they face the Yellow Army – given that CSK lose to Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow.

So far, Quinton de Kock has been the star of the team with the bat.

The left-handed wicket-keeper batsman has scored 378 runs in 10 matches and has provided strong starts to the three-time champions on occasions.

Rohit Sharma has had a mixed season so far with the bat and Quinton de Kock has done enough despite not getting consistent support from the other hand.

Hardik Pandya has also been one of the mainstream batsmen for his side.

He has scored 241 runs in 10 innings at an average of 40.16.

Most importantly, his strike-rate is 189.76, that is one of the best things for Mumbai Indians.

The three-time champions will hope to be back on the winning track when the players come back from a break of four days.
