Chennai Super Kings were able to tick the right boxes in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League. The Yellow army was able to win their third IPL title and had their most of their bases covered. They went for an experienced side and it was able to deliver the goods. However, MS Dhoni’s side will like to fill in the small gaps in the upcoming auctions of the IPL.

Chennai had experienced spinners like Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir who didn’t play to the best of their abilities in the previous edition. Thus, the three-times champions might look to get a good spinner in their ranks.

Here are the three released players who could be signed by Chennai Super Kings:

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has been released by Delhi Daredevils as Shami was on the expensive side in the previous season of IPL. Thus, CSK might rope in Mohammed Shami as they might be short of one Indian pacer. Shami has been in fine form in the red ball version and would like to replicate the same in the shortest format of the game.

Shami can be accurate with his yorkers and would be a good addition to the CSK’s side.

Axar Patel

Axar Patel is a handy all-rounder who can keep a padlock on the run-rate. Furthermore, the southpaw batsman can get crucial runs while batting in the lower order. Patel is now released by Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings can look to get him on board as he has had a good record in IPL.

Mohit Sharma

Chennai Super Kings can look to get back Mohit Sharma who has also played for them in the past. Mohit can hit the bullseye with his yorkers and he could be a crucial bowler in the death overs.

Chennai doesn’t have the services of quality death overs bowler and Mohit Sharma can be the answer to their questions. Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar had done a good job in the power play overs in the last season of IPL.
