IPL 2019: Watch: Ravichandran Ashwin Gives an Abusive Send-off to Virat Kohli Before Kohli Returns the Favour

The 42nd match of the Indian Premier League 2019 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab saw some heated exchanged from both sides at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. When two animated skippers – Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin goes up against each other, it is quite obvious that both teams will not leave an inch to the opposition side. However, amidst all the drama, host Bangalore held nerves to win the tie by 17 runs to register three consecutive wins.

Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 202 runs after an AB de Villiers-led carnage. However, nobody expected this score, but de Villiers played a blinder to score 64 runs from the last three overs to help Bangalore post 200+ total on the board. However, this looked like an impossible score for them at the halfway stage. Kings XI Punjab got off to a good start as Mohammed Shami got rid of Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli. Since then, Parthiv Patel carried on the inning before Ab de Villiers 88 runs knock helped them post a decent target.

Meanwhile, Ashwin looked all charged up with the dismissal of the Bangalore skipper. Kohli looked to take on the cover fielder and clear the infield but unfortunately mistimed it to give a dolly catch to Mandeep Singh positioned at the cover. Ravichandran Ashwin looked animated with the departure of Kohli and gave him an aggressive and abusive send-off. However, Virat Kohli is not someone to stop and returned the favour when Ashwin holed out to him at long-on in the last over of the match which eventually sealed the tie. Kohli hurled a mouthful at grabbing the catch and gave an exuberant reaction. Bangalore eventually won the game by 17 runs to keep their hopes alive in this edition of the IPL.

Meanwhile, Chris Gayle and KL Rahul got Kings XI Punjab off to a flying start during the chase but timely wickets from Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers kept them in the hunt. With 30 needed off the last two, Navdeep Saini bowled a terrific 19th over to give only three runs and remove two settle batsman to seal off the tie.
