Two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders spent a staggering amount of INR 15.50 crores to secure the Australia star’s services. Pat Cummins leaves behind MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma:

Pat Cummins will be the second highest earner in the upcoming season of IPL. The Australia pace spearhead will leave behind the likes of MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma in terms of salary. Both Rohit and Dhoni were retained by their respective IPL franchises – Mumbai Indians retained Rohit while Chennai Super Kings retained Dhoni – ahead of IPL 2018 for Rs 15 Crore each, Rs 50 Lakh less than what Cummins fetched in the auction.

India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli continues to be the highest earner in the IPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore had paid Rs 17 Crore, Rs 2 crore more than the highest retention amount, to retain Kohli ahead of IPL 2018. Kohli is also the highest-paid player in the history of IPL. Overall, former India batsman Yuvraj Singh is the second highest gainer in the IPL history. Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) had spent Rs 16 crore to buy the all-rounder in IPL 2015 auction.
