The Windies wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran was bagged by Kings XI Punjab for a decent price of INR 4.2 Crores. Kings XI Punjab didn’t have a regular wicketkeeper in their ranks in the previous season. Thus, KL Rahul had taken the wicketkeeping role for them.

Meanwhile, Nicholas Pooran is an exciting talent who had grabbed the eyeballs in the Carribean Premier League. He had scored a quickfire 57 off just 25 balls in the third T20I against India. The southpaw batsman had smashed four sixes and as many boundaries in his blistering knock.

Hence, the left-hander will like to continue his good form in the cash-rich tourney. Pooran will like to tick the right boxes in the Indian Premier League. He will be playing in the Indian Premier League for the first time in his career and it would be a great opportunity for him to deliver the goods for the Kings XI Punjab.

Punjab had also bagged the services of Moises Henriques for his base price of INR 1 Crores. Punjab had started the previous year auction on a high. They had won the first five matches out of the first seven. However, they veered off the track in the second half.

Punjab went on to lose the remaining six matches out of the next seven matches. Thus, Ravichandran Ashwin led side could make the cut for the playoff stages. Consequently, the Punjab franchise wasn’t consistent right throughout the season.

Hence, Punjab will like to turn the tables in the next season of the IPL. Kings XI Punjab has never savoured success in the folklore of the Indian Premier League.
