Mahela Jayawardene feels SLC should think about the Sri Lanka Cricket team and they should not take any decisions emotionally.

However, Sri Lanka had a bad outing in the Asia Cup 2018. They lost two matches against Bangladesh and Afghanistan in the group stage, and thus got knocked out of the tournament. Meanwhile, Angelo Mathews recently got dropped for the England ODIs and had been stripped off the captaincy as well. Mathews has responded almost immediately, demanding the selectors for allowing him to give a fitness test.

Moreover, Sri Lanka is also going through a bad phase, as they suffered a first-ever Test defeat to Bangladesh last year. They also lost an ODI series to Zimbabwe for the first time and got whitewashed 0-5 by India at home.

Moreover, this year, Sri Lanka failed to make it to the finals of the tri-nation Nidahas Trophy. They lost a five-match home series to South Africa with two ODIs to spare before the Asia Cup 2018.

Meanwhile, the senior campaigner, Mathews had also occurred an injury in his legs, but it is his match fitness that got called into question on this occasion. In the Asia Cup 2018, he was seen inactive between the wickets and had played a role in the run-outs of two batting partners.

However, Sri Lanka will play a five-match ODI series against England that will start from October 10, 2018, and Mahela Jayawardene feels the time is right for SLC to put things to right place.

“What happened in the last few days @OfficialSLC and to respond is tough. One thing is you should never wash ur dirty laundry in public. Emotional decision are not all ways correct. Best is to think what is best for SL cricket and make none emotional decisions” Mahela Jayawardene.
