New Zealand allrounder James Neesham sent the Royal Challengers Bangalore fans wild by liking a post of Mike Hesson on Instagram. The former New Zealand coach is currently the director of cricket operations at the franchise. After the franchise released the list of their released players, Hesson took to Instagram to post a video where he spoke about the released players.

The Bangalore-based outfit retained 13 players while releasing 11 ahead of the auction in December in Kolkata. For 12 straight seasons, Royal Challengers Bangalore have failed to earn the IPL trophy despite having some of the finest players in their ranks. They retained just two overseas players in the form of AB de Villiers and Moeen Ali while releasing the likes of Dale Steyn, Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis and others.

And when James Neesham liked that video from Hesson, the Royal Challengers Bangalore fans implied that the allrounder is coming to the franchise for the next season. Neesham has not played in the IPL since 2014. Neesham was picked by Delhi Capitals in 2014 and played four games that season. In the following year, Kolkata Knight Riders secured his services but he did not play a single match for them due to injury and was dropped from the squad the very next season.

Since then, Neesham has not played in the league. It would be interesting to see whether he puts his name for the upcoming auction or note. But for the time being, he has hinted that he prefers Sunrisers Hyderabad over any other team.

It all started when a Royal Challengers fan took to Twitter to post the image of Neesham liking Hesson’s post and wrote:

“Welcome aboard @JimmyNeesh @RCBTweets”

Neesham being Neesham posted a funny response to the tweet, writing:

“I liked @CoachHesson’s Instagram of his new house, doesn’t mean I’m moving in ????????????”

This is when a Sunrisers Hyderabad fan decided to try his luck. The fan asked the allrounder whether he would play for Sunrisers. In reply, Neesham made it clear that he would love to play with his New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, writing:

“I would follow Kane out of the trenches wherever that maybe”
