New Zealand allrounder Jimmy Neesham has come up with yet another gem of a tweet after rain delayed the start of the ongoing second Test between England and West Indies in Manchester.

Rain always remains a big threat for cricket matches in England. Who can forget last year’s World Cup when a number of games were washed out due to rain. During the league stage of the World Cup, as many as four games were washed out.

There were other matches as well were the DLS method was used to determine the winner of the match. Rain had played the spoilsport during the first semifinal between India and New Zealand too and the game had to be completed on reserve day.

Well, rain has been frustrating the cricket fraternity once again as it has been playing spoilsport in the ongoing Test series between England and West Indies. The series marks the return of international cricket after action around the world came to a halt in March in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

The first Test, which took place last week, was interrupted by rain too. On the first day of the match, rain had wreaked havoc. Just 17.4 overs of action on the historic day of the return of international cricket was possible. Fortunately, rain did not have a major say in the remainder of the game as West Indies went on to win the game by four wickets.

But the rain returned to delay the start of the second Test too. The start was delayed for around 90 minutes before players from both sides took the field after West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first in damp conditions.

In the meantime, the fans took to Twitter to talk about England’s fickle weather once again and expressed their frustration over the same. This is when Jimmy Neesham decided to join the bandwagon and as usual, he stole the show with yet another hilarious tweet.

Known for his witty tweets, Jimmy Neesham came up with a hilarious response to one of the fan’s who expressed his surprise over cricket being invented in England – a country which witnesses rain almost throughout the year. Responding to the tweet, Jimmy Neesham:

“Probably one of the reasons the British colonised the world. To find a place where they could play a damn Test match.”
