Since the whole pandemic thing I want to play as much as I can. Cricket at the highest level will probably finish for me in two or three years, ” Moeen Ali said during a Doosra Podcast.

“I want to make the most of it and play as much as I can. I only did it (stepping away from international cricket) for a bit of a break, and I’ve had that now.” Ali added.

Describing it as an ‘amazing time’, Moeen Ali went on to give insights on the mindset of the English players, who were under immense pressure to live up to the ‘favorites’ tag and break the duck as far as winning the quadrennial event is concerned in front of their home fans.

It was an amazing time. I think the whole emotion of four years build up to it and so much went into it… so much pressure for us to win it at home. It took us a couple of seconds to think we have won the game (final). I wasn’t playing the game but it didn’t feel like I wasn’t playing, ” Moeen Ali said on England winning the World Cup last year

“I can’t describe the feeling but just to see all the guys celebrating and to be part of that journey was simply unbelievable,” Moeen Ali said.

Talking about Moeen Ali’s career stats, the English all-rounder has featured in 60 Tests, 101 ODIs and 28 Twenty20 Internationals, in which he has racked up a total of 4849 runs besides accumulating 282 wickets.
