Twitter reaction: Mohammed Shami left out of BCCI's contract
Updated - 07 Mar 2018, 09:12 PM
The 27-year-old Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is having troubled times as he has been excluded from BCCI’s new contract system after allegations related to infidelity. The Bengal pacer’s name was missing from the Annual Player Contract list for the period from October 2017 to September 2018.
Shami, who was a part of the Indian team during the tour to South Africa, faced massive allegations from wife Hasin Jahan. His wife claimed that Shami is a pure womaniser and also accused him of domestic violence. She even went on to add that Shami and his family are after her and they want to kill her.
The Committee of Administrators(CoA) for BCCI on Wednesday announced the list. The members believed that the performance and position of Indian cricket need to recognise on the top level, comparing it to the best in the world.
One of the BCCI officials cleared the air a bit and added that Shami’s contract is just on hold. Speaking to Cricketnext, the official said: “Shami is very much in the scheme of things, and his contract is just put on hold. We need to verify a few things before getting to the bottom of the matter. Ideally, the current controversy regarding Shami and his family should have been looked into by the ethics committee of the BCCI. But, since there is no such provision as of now, a final call will be taken only after a conclusion is reached. While the matter could be debated both ways because the claims against Shami has nothing to do with his cricketing career, it was felt that the wait and watch policy is the right way forward.”
The Indian speedster has often been mocked on Twitter. Many a time, he had heated exchange of tweets with cricket fans.
Let us take a look at how social media reacted to the news:

In the NFL there is a moral / good behavior clause in the players contract. Many players recently have been thrown out of teams when they have beaten their girlfriends or wives #Shami
