Australia skipper Tim Paine has made it to news once again for his verbal abilities. Ever since the Test series against India last season, Paine has become a fan favourite across the globe for his cheeky remarks from behind the stumps. The famous ‘babysitter’ sledge for Rishabh Pant is still fresh in every cricket fan’s mind.

That sledge had come in last year’s Boxing Day Test and Tim Paine came up with yet another gem of a sledge in the ongoing Boxing Day Test against New Zealand. This time around, Ross Taylor was in the firing line of the Australia wicketkeeper-batsman. Tim Paine sledged the New Zealand veteran after the latter survived an lbw decision from a James Pattinson ball. The incident took place on day two of the Test.

Later in the day, Ross Taylor was given out but survived again when he reviewed the decision. The review showed that the ball was over the stumps. This is when Tim Paine decided to get under the skin of Ross Taylor and his hilarious comments were heard on the stump microphone.

“That’s twice I’ve seen him dead out plumb and not given,” Tim Paine said.

“You see Broady hit him in the pad in New Zealand? It was absolutely hitting middle stump and it had missing leg. He knows the bloke in the truck,” added Paine during the hilarious banter.

Ross Taylor then joined the conversation by saying: “The only problem is I actually hit that one in New Zealand. That’s why I wasn’t given.”

In reply, Tim Paine said:  Did you? Did you touch it though? I don’t think you did.”

Here is a clip of that hilarious sledging from Tim Paine:

Talking about the match, New Zealand ended day two on 44 for 2. Earlier in the day, Australia finished the day on 467. Travis Head top-scored for his side with 114 while Tim Paine, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne scored fifties.
