On Friday, the Bangladesh Cricket Team has announced their squad for the one-off Test match against Afghanistan. The fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been rested for the game while Shakib Al Hasan was asked to lead by the board. Apart from that, there are quite a few surprise inclusions and exclusions from the team.

Tamim Iqbal also misses out:

Tamim Iqbal is on a sabbatical to shrug off his workload and form concerns. He continues to miss out along with Khaled Ahmed who has undergone an operation for his knee injury. Shakib Al Hasan, who missed that series in New Zealand, will take over the captaincy from Mahmudullah.

The likes of Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Litton Das, Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim will look after the batting department. In the fast bowling department,  Mosaddek Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, and Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan will be the spinners.

Meanwhile, Taskin Ahmed returns to the Bangladesh squad and has Abu Jayed and Ebadot Hossain as fast bowling options in the squad. Off all, Shakib Al Hasan will look after both sections like a pro player.

However, the overall squad looks decent with all the players in the right kind of form. This is also a perfect opportunity for the youngsters to cement their place in the side.

The one-off Test will not be the part of the ongoing Test Championship. It will be played from September 5 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
