Overseas Media Makes Fun Of Virat Kohli Due To New TV Commercial

Days ahead of the World Cup, Team India skipper Virat Kohli and youngster Rishabh Pant recently became the butt of all jokes after starring together in a television commercial. Kohli and Pant rapping together on the big screen took many by surprise. The two released the commercial for skin care company Himalaya Men on Thursday night.

“Walking like a dude, feeling all cool,” said Kohli as he starts the rap before adding: “You’ve got the look, you’re going to rule.”

Pant then replies by saying: “Paint the town red ‘cos Virat says so’”.

Kohli then concluded the 45-second advertisement with a piece of advise for his younger teammate, saying: “But before you step out, dear bro, that pimple’s gotta go, gotta go, gotta go.”

“Watch me and @RishabPant777 team up with @HimalayaMEN to take care of the one problem that keeps coming back. PIMPLES! #HimalayaMenPimplesGottaGo #LookingGoodAndLovingIt,” wrote Kohli on his Twitter handle.

As soon as Kohli posted the video on his Twitter, the fans could not help but cringe at the commercial as they trolled him and Pant. Not only the fans, some big names from the games like Stuart Broad and Brad Hodge had also taken a dig at the duo and so did some overseas news outlets. Kohli and Pant’s commercial was widely criticised among the foreign media and here are just some of the big reactions.

“Virat Kohli has subjected the cricketing world to a 45 second trainwreck that’s being burned into the eyes of viewers. WARNING: Distressing content,” wrote Australia’s news.com.au before dissecting the commercial.

On the other hand, Fox Cricket titled their news piece on the commercial: “Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant’s hilarious new commercial”. New Zealand, NZHerald wrote: “Virat Kohli has subjected the cricket world to a nauseating new pimples product advertisement that can’t be unseen.”
