Following the tour, the country’s cricket board president said that despite the security arrangements, having to stay in a hotel and having to wait for roads to be closed was not easy. Shammi Silva has claimed that he got fed-up staying in hotel rooms for three-four days due to security arrangements.

“PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, and CEO, Wasim Khan are in Dubai for the ICC board meetings. They have apparently conveyed to Sri Lankan officials that if they (SL) insist on playing the test series in UAE, they should bear the expenses,” a reliable source said as per India Today.

“The PCB has decided to take a stance. They decided it even after convincing the ICC and Sri Lankan board officials that they can properly manage all security arrangements in Pakistan if the Sri Lankan board still insists on having the series in UAE it will have to pay or share the expenses of hosting the series,” the source said.

Pakistan has not hosted a home test series since March 2009. It was when militants had attacked the Sri Lankan team in Lahore. If they can host a Test match, there would be a lot of teams, who might get convinced to tour Pakistan.
