Prithvi Shaw is winning hearts not only with his on-field exploits but also his determination to succeed. And the latest to be blown away by Shaw is former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop.

Prithvi Shaw is grabbing the headlines from a very young age. He first shot to limelight when he set a new record of 546 runs from 330 balls playing for Rizvi Springfield in a Harris Shield match. It was the highest score in Indian schools cricket before being surpassed by Pranav Dhanawade in 2016. The marathon knock, which lasted six hours and seven minutes, was studded with 85 fours and five sixes.

Shaw made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the semi-finals of the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy on 1 January 2017. He had gone on score a century in the second innings to bag the Man of the Match award.

The right-handed batsman also scored a century in his debut match of the Duleep Trophy. He equaled the record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who had scored for the first time a century each in his debut matches of Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy respectively.

He then led India to ICC Under-19 World Cup trophy and impressed in IPL and for India A which paved the way for his maiden Test call-up.

And so far he has totally justified the hype as well as the faith showed in him. He starred with the bat for India in the recently-concluded series against West Indies.

The right-handed batsman opened the series with a blistering 134-run knock. In the following innings he scored 70 off just 53 balls before scoring an unbeaten 33 to take India home. Shaw finished the series with 234 runs which was enough for him to earn the man-of-the-series award.

But despite achieving so much as such an young age, Prithvi Shaw is not getting carried away and his latest tweet is a big proof of that. Posting a picture of himself receiving the Man of the Series award, Shaw tweeted:

“Just reaching here is never going to be Enough…. To be the Best among the best is what I always strive for❤️#manoftheseries ? #champions ❤️”

And Ian Bishop was mighty impressed with Shaw’s mindset as he re-tweeted his tweet and wrote:

“That is what I want to hear from a young player. I pray he achieves his desired goals.”
