Former Australia skipper Steve Smith has taken batting in Test cricket to a whole new level. He has made a superb comeback from exile and is best in the business right now. Batting great Sachin Tendulkar has recently revealed what set the Aussie apart from the rest.

The New South Wales cricketer has been in emphatic ever since he returned and has now scored two centuries, one double hundred, and one fifty in the four innings he has batted till now. Steve Smith started the day unbeaten on 60 and by the time he was finished on 211, he had England on a submission.

He was in his element right from the start and barring the pat-back to Archer in the second over of the day and the half-chance of the run-out, later on, there was nothing he offered England. Steve Smith recently reclaimed his top-ranking in the Test from Virat Kohli.

Smith rightly justified that he deserved the spot with a magnificent double hundred to power Australia to 498 for seven in the first innings before declaring. He had quality contributions from his teammates but Smith absolutely stole the show in Manchester. He became the second-fastest to score 26 centuries in Test after countryman Sir Don Bradman.

Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has revealed what makes Steve Smith a legend. He said a compact mindset with a complicated technique is what set the Aussie batsman apart from the rest. Smith will hope to carry on the excellent form as Australia look to win the Ashes series in England for the first time since 2001.
