Kolkata Knight Riders have already played two games in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League but it is safe to say they still have not hit the consitency they would have loved. At present, they are lying at the fifth spot in the points table with 6 wins from 12 games.

In their previous five games, the two-time IPL winners have won two while losing three. Last week, they registered a stunning 59-run win over Delhi Capitals by putting up an all round performance and it looked like they would finally string together a series of wins.

However, it was followed by a crushing nine-wicket loss at the hands of Kings XI Punjab on Monday. The heavy loss also saw them slipping down to fifth position in the points table.

With KKR’s form showing little signs of consistency, their fans are quite worried and one such fan recently asked the team’s co-owner Shah Rukh Khan about the same. The worried fan asked Shah Rukh Khan whether KKR would go on to win the title this season, tweeting:

“Kya lagta hai kolkata jitegi sir.. Iss baar!? KKR wali cricket nahi fans ke jazbaat ke saath khel rahi hai… (What do you think sir, will KKR win this time? KKR are not playing cricket but playing with fans emotions).”

Shah Rukh Khan noticed the tweet and as usual, he came up with a witty reply. The Bollywood star, who is in UAE to support the team, wrote: “Arre meri socho….mere dil pe kya beet rahi hai!!!! (Think about me… what all is going through my heart!!!).”

Fate in our own hands:

Following the loss to Kings XI Punjab, KKR captain Eoin Morgan said that the team’s promotion through to the playoffs is in their own hands. He also admitted that moving from one ground to another has been a challenging experience for the players.

“That’s one of the challenges this year, going from ground to ground. Hopefully we adjust to the conditions in Dubai. That’s the nature of the tournament, there are not many bad sides. Our fate is in our own hands in the last two games. I think Gill scoring runs and restricting the Kings till the 11th or 12th over, those were the positives,” Morgan said.
