Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly has joined the bandwagon of Indian cricketers slamming Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. The former Pakistan cricket captain is drawing criticism from all around for his hateful speech at the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Sourav Ganguly came down hard on Imran Khan and labelled his address as “rubbish”. The legendary Indian cricketer also said that this is not the cricketer the world knew of. Ganguly made this comment while replying to Virender Sehwag’s tweet in which he had shared a video of Imran Khan.

Sehwag had tweeted a video where an American journalist mocked Imran Khan by saying that he did not sound like a Prime Minister but a welder from Bronx.

“Viru…I see this and I am shocked…a speech which is unheard of…a world which needs peace, Pakistan as a country needs it the most…and the leader speaks such rubbish…not the Imran Khan the cricketer world knew…speech in UN was poor,” Ganguly tweeted.

Earlier this week, cricketers including Mohammad Shami, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan slammed Khan for his speech at the UNGA and said his words did not reflect sportsmanship.

In the 74th UNGA meet, Imran Khan tried his best to turn the world against India with his hate speeches and war rhetoric, without much success. He had held out threats of a conventional war between the two nuclear-armed neighbours spinning out of control. He also spoke about the radicalisation of Muslims in India and around the world. The former cricketer also warned India of another Pulwama type attack.

Khan has been spreading propaganda against India since the latter’s government abrogated Article 370. While India have maintained that it was their internal matter, Khan and his compatriots have been hell-bent to make India reverse the decision.
