Sri Lanka Vs India 2017: Twitter Reacts As India Announce ODI And T20I Squad

The Indian selectors made some huge calls while announcing the 15-man squad for the upcoming limited-overs series against Sri Lanka as they dropped veteran batsman Yuvraj Singh after his consistent failures while also ignoring Suresh Raina.

Yuvraj’s omission was very much on the cards after the southpaw managed just 162 runs in his last seven ODIs. However, speculations were rife that Raina would get a call after being in fine form during the Indian Premier League. Raina was in the standby list for the Champions Trophy but the selectors ignored him once again. Apart from Yuvraj, Mohammed Shami, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh Yadav were dropped from the team. Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant have also been dropped.

On the other hand, Manish Pandey, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel and KL Rahul have been included in the team for the five ODIs and one T20I starting August 20 in Dambulla. Rohit Sharma and Jasprit have also been named in the side after the duo was rested for the series in West Indies last month.
