T10 League: Rajputs vs Northern Warriors, Match 23 - Review

Northern Warriors won the match convincingly by seven wickets beating Rajputs in the 23rd game of the T10 league. Khary Pierre was awarded the player of the Match for his excellent bowling effort. Earlier on the day, Northern Warriors skipper won the toss and put Rajput to bat first.

The opening pair couldn’t start the innings well as they lost their first two wickets within the second over. Khary Pierre opened the account for his team, and soon after that, Chris Green joined his partner on the very first ball of the next over. The bowlers had rattled the batting line-up in quick time as they picked up wickets at regular interval.

Moreover, no batsmen could cross the single-digit score except Ben Dunk who scored 14 runs from five deliveries. Later, Rajputs middle-order batsmen  Rohan Mustafa and Qais Ahmad only added 10 and 19 runs respectively. Khary Pierre was the pick of the bowlers from Northern Warriors who bagged three wickets from his quota of two overs. Meanwhile Imran Haider and Hardus Viljoen each picked up two.

A convincing win for Warriors.

However, they managed to post a total of 64 runs with the loss of eight wickets at the end of ten overs. While chasing down the target, Northern Warriors opener Dwayne Smith got rid of Rohan Mustafa who scored eight runs from three balls. Later Nicholas Pooran slammed every bowler of Rajput’s team and scored unbeaten 45 runs from 18 deliveries. Pooran’s included four boundaries and as many sixes.

Rajputs managed to secure the target within the sixth over with 25 balls to spare. Northern Warriors bowler Qais Ahmad only managed to pick up two wickets giving away seven runs from his full quota, and they are leading the Qualifier points table.

Northern Warriors won the game (Nicholas Pooran 45*, Qais Ahmad 2/7) to Rajputs (Qais Ahmad 19*, Khary Pierre 3/10) by seven wickets.
