Sanjay Manjrekar just cannot relax nowadays and somewhere he should holds himself responsible for the same. The former India batsman, who never shies away from coming up with bold statements, took a shot at Ravindra Jadeja recently. Manjrekar caused a stir in the cricketing world by calling Jadeja a “bits and pieces player”.

Manjrekar’s comment came in the wake of Jadeja’s constant exclusion from the playing XI in the ongoing World Cup. The allrounder finally played his first game of the tournament on Saturday against India.  Jadeja replaced Mohammed Shami in a dead rubber and it did not take him long to prove Manjrekar wrong.

The left-arm spinner was introduced in the 11th over of Sri Lanka’s innings when Manjrekar was in the commentary box. Just four deliveries into the over, he sent back Kusal Mendis. MS Dhoni completed an easy stumping as Mendis came down the track and was beaten by the length and spin of the delivery. Jadeja went on to complete a fine spell, conceding just 40 runs from his ten overs.

And Manjrekar’s views on Jadeja changed in just a blink of an eye. The ex-cricketer-turned-commentator, in fact, was so impressed with Jadeja then he went on to include him in his playing eleven for the semifinal.

“Trying to predict Indian team for the semis. Let’s see how many I get right. Do send yours too. Will retweet a few.  Rohit, Rahul, Virat, Pant, Hardik, Dhoni, Jadeja, Bhuvi, Shami, Kuldeep*, Bumrah,” wrote Sanjay Manjrekar.

Unsurprisingly, the fans were amused by the turn of events and did not waste long to troll Manjrekar.
