Vinod Kambli Expresses Delight After Arjun Tendulkar Breaks Into the Under-19 Squad

Former Indian batsman and childhood friend of Sachin Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli is elated after Arjun Tendulkar’s was selected in the Under-19 squad. Arjun had broken into the U-19 squad for the two four day games on the Sri Lankan tour.

Kambli believes the junior Tendulkar has worked hard on his game. Thus, the left-arm speedster has reaped rich fruits as he has made into the quite young team.

Golden opportunity for Junoir Tendulkar.:

Consequently, it would be a golden opportunity for Arjun Tendulkar to leave his mark at the Junoir Level. Kambli showed his happiness after Arjun Tendulkar’s selection.

“I am really happy for Arjun. He has really worked hard. I have been reading about him and have also spoken to his coaches and they have all told me that he is a hard-working guy. From the core of my heart, I would like to congratulate the Tendulkar family,” Kambli told Sportstar from Ranchi.

Meanwhile, Kambli has noticed Arjun’s journey as a cricketer owing to the close quarters. Kambli added Sachin has always encouraged his son to follow the right path to success as there are no short-cuts.

Kambli went on to add, “I saw Arjun as a baby and now he is selected for India U-19 squad. His father, Sachin, would always say that one should follow the dreams and I am happy to see Arjun following his dreams. It is a great feeling”.

Meanwhile, Kambli is handed over a new role by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The former left-hander was given a role of batting consultant at the U-16 boys Zonal Cricket Academy (ZCA) camp for East Zone in Ranchi. Consequently, Kambli went on to give his gratitude to the Indian board.

“I thank the BCCI for reposting the faith in me and giving me this opportunity. The guys were outstanding. I had a good interaction with them and they were keen on listening to whatever I said,” Kambli added.

Kambli further went on to thank his old friend Sachin for bringing him closer to the game again.

Meanwhile, Tendulkar was instrumental in getting Kambli a coaching role at the junior level.

“I would thank Sachin for bringing me to this format. I was mostly on television, talking about cricket. He met me one day and asked, ‘What are you doing here? Enter where you belong. Talk to youngsters about the game’,” Kambli reminisced.

Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli share a great bonhomie from their childhood days. It is great to note that little master is helping his old friend to stay in proximity to the game.
