One of India’s brightest stars Sumit Nagal won millions of heart with his impeccable tennis against legend Roger Federer in the US Open. Although he went down but stunned everyone winning the first set. However, all this was not possible without India skipper Virat Kohli’s organisation – Virat Kohli Foundation.

In a country, where sports other than cricket hardly grabs any attention, Sumit Nagal has become a household name in India. He made the whole of India wake up at 6:00 AM to watch him play against the legendary Roger Federer.

However, all this was not possible without the support of Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper’s foundation stood tall by his side and helped him financially when Nagal was struggling. Sumit Nagal sounded grateful to Kohli and his foundation.

“Virat Kohli’s foundation has been supporting me since 2017. I haven’t been performing well for the last two years and was facing a financial crisis. If I didn’t have Virat Kohli supporting me, I don’t know what I would have done. If people fund athletes, it will only help the sport flourish in the country. I am fortunate to get that support from Virat,” Nagal told Bombay Times.

Roger Federer also seemed impressed with Sumit Nagal and said that the young kid has a bright future ahead. Hailing from Haryana, Nagpal left his first impression when he won the 2015 Wimbledon boys’ doubles title. The 22-year-old still has a long journey ahead and hopes to bring more accolades for India.
