Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri Squash Rumours Of Rift Between Indian Players

Indian captain Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri thrashed the rumours of a rift between the Indian players. There were reports that there is a rift between Indian captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Furthermore, it was reported that both of these players had unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Subsequently, Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri added that the team cannot perform consistently if there is a disharmony in the team dressing room. The Indian team has performed consistently in the recent past and both Kohli and Shastri said that they are left baffle with such rumours.

Kohli said that is disrespectful for all the players. Furthermore, Kohli said that the dressing room atmosphere is great and he has always praised Rohit Sharma whenever he has got the chance to do so.

Kohli clears the air.

Virat Kohli in the press conference, “See, I have also heard a lot of rumours in the recent past. We get to hear from the outside. Had the team atmosphere not been good, the way we have played, we won’t have been able to play. I know how important it is to have a good team atmosphere if you want to succeed at the International level”.

Ravi Shastri intervened in between and said, “The way this team plays, no individual is bigger than the game. Not him, not me, nobody in the team. The way they play, it is in the interest of the team. And you cannot have the kind of consistency in the team if you have divisions in the team”.

Virat Kohli added in the presser, “I will tell you something about myself, if I don’t like the person or if I am insecure of a person, you will see that on my face or in my behaviour towards that person. It is how simple it is. I have always praised Rohit whenever I have had the opportunity because he is that good. We have had no issues, as I said it is baffling for me. I don’t know who is benefitting from all of these, we are living here to get Indian cricket to the top.

Virat Kohli added, “The team can’t perform consistently without a good environment in the dressing room, and we’ve performed consistently in the last 2 years”.

Kohli went on to add, “It’s baffling. Ridiculous to read the stuff that is said. People are creating fantasies in our minds. It’s bizarre that people are creating stuff. Come in the dressing room. Lies being floating around.

It is good that Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri have cleared the rumours. These unwanted things were unnecessarily making the headlines and it is crucial that we get back to real action on the field. The team has performed consistently in the last two years and it makes no sense for these rumours to get the attention.
