With India’s top-order struggles against left-arm seamers very much visible in recent times, the team-management had invited a very special guest before the series-opener against New Zealand earlier this month. The likes of Mohammad Amir and Jason Behrendorff had wreaked havoc on India’s top-order in the last few months and in order to counter the threat of another quality left-arm pacer in the form of New Zealand pace spearhead Trent Boult, the Men in Blue invited none other than Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, to prepare themselves for the left-armer.

And well looking at a newly-released video, one can say that Arjun gave the Indian stars a good practise. The youngster, who recently made it to the Mumbai Under-19 team, ran in with great force and delivered the balls at a good pace, impressing India skipper Virat Kohli.

He was also seen taking tips from the bowling coach Bharat Arun and reportedly bowled at around 130 km/h. Arjun was also recently seen bowling to Indian women’s team before the final of this year’s World Cup and he had also grabbed the headlines after injuring England star Jonny Bairstow with a yorker.

Here is the video showing Arjun bowling to Kohli:

But while Arjun managed to impress one and all with his bowling, India’s problem against left-arm seamers continued as Boult managed to pick up 4 for 35 to help his team stun the hosts in the first game in Mumbai.

Boult dismissed both the Indian openers- Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan and then the dangerous MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya to jolt the Indian batting lineup as the Men in Blue managed to put up 280. In reply, New Zealand rode on Tom Latham’s century and Ross Taylor’s 95 to win the game by six wickets.
