India will look to seal the series when they go up against West in the second of the three-match T20I series on August 4 (Saturday) at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli & Co produced a complete effort to seal the first T20I beating West Indies by four wickets.

India aim series win

West Indies were good in patches but lacked consistency in the first game. Both Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine marked their return to international cricket with impressive performances, but it was not enough to seal the tie. The batsmen failed to shoulder responsibility as they managed to post only 95 runs in their 20 overs. Skipper Carlos Brathwaite will want them to take up the responsibility and put in a much-improved performance to stay alive in the three-match series.

On the other hand, for India, the young bowling attack was excellent, something that would please Virat Kohli. He will want his bowling unit to produce a similar kind of effort and have the same impact in the second T20I. The batting; however, needs to take more responsibility in the middle and lead the batting front.

Toss Report

India skipper Virat Kohli has won the toss and elected to bat first against West Indies in Florida.

Here is what the captains said,

Virat Kohli

We’re going to bat first. Looks an okay wicket today. Moisture from yesterday morning is gone. Think the pitch will get slower and slower. First six overs ball’s going to come on nicely. Important to assess pitch once ball gets older. Have to think on the feet on such a pitch. Same team.

Carlos Brathwaite

Looks a better wicket. Still think there will be moisture. Shouldn’t change much over 20 overs. Backing the boys to come out on top. Message has been to keep that positive intent, just make smarter decisions. John Campbell is out so Narine opens the batting. Pierre is in.
