Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam joined his teammates at the ongoing fitness camp in Kakul after a short absence. Upon arriving at the Kakul Academy, Babar Azam underwent a fitness assessment as part of his participation in the camp with the Pakistani army.

Pakistani cricketers are participating in a fitness camp at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT), engaging in diverse training regimens and gym workouts. The camp, with 29 cricketers, began on March 26 and is scheduled to end on April 8. The players partake in light training at 4 pm, with a more rigorous session following Iftar.

The fitness camp’s main objective is to prepare the national cricket team for forthcoming bilateral matches and the ICC T20 World Cup. As the camp advances, the training intensity has heightened, evident in the transition from a two-kilometer run earlier in the week to an eight-kilometer run organized for the players on Thursday.

Babar Azam Joins Pakistan Training Camp On Thursday

Babar Azam joined the camp right after the Thursday evening training session. Naseem Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed, who had been on an Umrah pilgrimage with Babar, have resumed their training. Babar then underwent a fitness assessment upon his arrival at the camp.

Some players refrained from the fitness run due to injury concerns. Imad Wasim opted for lighter gym workouts instead after missing Wednesday’s training. Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf joined the rehabilitation group as they continued their recovery from injuries.

During training intervals, players engaged in activities like badminton, forming teams for friendly matches. Notably, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Haris partnered against Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi. These activities offered a welcome respite from the intense training.
