The India vs England Test series is tied 1-1 after two encounters. Three more encounters will take place during the series. India, led by Rohit Sharma, won the previous match by 106 runs. However, Ben Stokes & Boys won the opening game by 28 runs.

India has a real battle on their hands- Ian Chappell

Former Australia legend Ian Chappell feels that India has a real battle against Ben Stokes-led England team in the IND vs ENG Test series. In his column for ESPNcricinfo, the 80-year-old wrote that India might win the series but they will have a tough challenge against the visitors.

“As the home side India should eventually win a tough series, but it has a real battle on their hands. England under the aggressive leadership of Stokes are a far cry from the poorly captained Joe Root team that capitulated against spin on their last tour of the country. This India versus England contest is shaping up as it should: a tough five-match encounter between two talented sides,” Ian Chappell wrote in his column.

Ben Stokes has been extremely smart: Ian Chappell

Ian Chappell, who represented Australia from 1964 to 1980, also noted that it’s not only aggressive batting ‘Bazball’ that has helped England to excel in Tests. He feels that Ben Stokes has been aggressive in all aspects of the game.

“Much of England’s success has been attributed to Bazball – the desire to score quickly and tactically rattle the opposition – but this is a misnomer. What Stokes has really done is set out to achieve victory from ball one by playing aggressive cricket in all aspects of the game. Stokes has been extremely smart to adopt such an approach and his aggressive tactics have brought England great success in the win column,” Chappell further added.
